Questions You Might Have

Who is eligible to apply?

MVP programs are open to U.S. military veterans who have experienced a service-connected injury, illness, or disability and are seeking healing, connection, and community. Applicants should be open to participating in a small-group setting, engaging in shared activities, and bringing a guest of their choosing. Adaptive equipment is available for those who need it.

What documentation is required to apply?

Applicants will need to provide documentation of their military service and a service-connected disability as part of the application process. Once your application is received, MVP will guide you through the verification steps before sending you the full Participant Intake Form.

Is this program really free?

Yes — completely. Every MVP program is provided at no cost to veterans and their guest. That includes programming, lodging, meals, and full mountain access. MVP is funded entirely through donations and sponsorships, which means every dollar given directly funds someone's experience.

Can I bring a guest or family member?

Yes. Every participant is encouraged to bring one guest — a spouse, partner, family member, or loved one. Guests participate fully in the experience alongside the veteran. Healing is deeper when it's shared, and MVP's programs are designed with that in mind.

What if I have a physical limitation or disability?

All MVP programs are designed to be adaptive and inclusive at every ability level. Activities are modified so every participant can fully engage, and adaptive equipment is provided where needed. No prior outdoor experience is required for any program.

Is MVP right for me if I'm not sure I qualify?

MVP is purpose-built for veterans who would genuinely benefit from intentional time in a restorative environment and a supportive peer community. If you've experienced a service-connected injury or illness and are looking for connection, structure, and healing through the outdoors, this program was made for you. If you're unsure, reach out at info@mountainveteranprogram.org and we'll help you figure it out.

How can my organization or business support MVP?

MVP welcomes corporate and organizational giving through sponsorships that directly fund veteran experiences — covering programming, lodging, meals, and mountain access for a veteran and their guest.
